What primary services do you offer?
We provide physical therapy in the convenient location and comfort of your home. We are in network with Medicare part B and all Medicare supplemental plans. We do offer physical therapy without insurance as well. Please see information regarding this below.
What do you specialize in?
Dr. Schmitt specializes in patient age 50 and over. He earned an LSVT BIG certification, making him a specialist in treating those with Parkinson’s disease and other related conditions. Dr. Schmitt also has specialties in post-surgical rehab (such as total hip or total knee replacement, shoulder replacement, rotator cuff, fracture repair, etc.), repeated falls, dementia, stroke, autoimmune diseases, various forms of arthritis, chronic pain, low back pain, neck pain, vestibular pathologies such as vertigo, and many more! Dr. Schmitt also specializes in providing education on various topics such as nutrition, stress management, and their role in your recovery and rehab. What are the rates of your services?
Medicare part B covers 80% of physical therapy services, leaving you to cover the remaining 20%. If you have a Medicare supplemental plan, often times they cover the remaining 20% and there is typically no co-pay. We are in network with Medicare part B and all Medicare supplemental plans. Medicare part B refers to outpatient services covered by Medicare. We do offer physical therapy without insurance as well. Please see information regarding this below.
Are you licensed and insured?
Dr. Schmitt is a licensed physical therapist in the state of Iowa. We are equipped with professional, general liability, and malpractice insurance.
Do you provide physical therapy without insurance?
You can certainly pay for physical therapy without insurance. If you decide to do this, we charge $125 for one hour and $80 for a half hour treatment session. If you have Medicare and physical therapy is medically necessary for your condition, we are required to go through your Medicare plan. If your condition is not medically necessary for physical therapy to provide treatment or you have a commercial insurance, you may to out of pocket.
Am I able to be reimbursed if I decide to pay out of pocket?
Certainly! For those who are out of network like commercial insurance or Medicare advantage plans, we can provide a superbill that can be submitted to your insurance for out-of-network benefits. This section does not apply to those with traditional Medicare and/or Medicare supplemental plans.

What do I need prior to being treated?
Although it is not required in the state of Iowa and for Medicare to have a physician referral prior to treatment, it is highly recommended. We can reach out to your physician to receive an order so it can be hassle-free for you.
On the day of treatment, we need copies of all health insurance cards, a form of ID, as well as for the patient and/or caregiver to sign consent and privacy rights forms which are provided by us.
